Drinking it
26 answersGoli Pop Soda is India's marble soda, made new. It comes in a glass Codd-neck bottle sealed by a marble, which drops with a pop when you press it. Each 220 ml bottle holds 6 g of fibre, is low in sugar and is sweetened with monk fruit / stevia. ABNN Fresh Expo LLP makes it in Surat, India.

The drink it grew from is goli soda: the fizzy street-corner soda that generations in India opened by pushing a marble into the neck of the bottle. Goli Pop keeps the bottle and the moment, and changes what is inside.
It comes in six flavours and is sold in more than 11 countries.
A marble soda is a fizzy drink whose bottle is closed by a glass marble in place of a cap. The gas in the drink presses the marble up against a rubber ring in the neck and holds it there. To open the bottle you push the marble down, and it stays in a chamber in the neck while you drink.

The bottle is called a Codd-neck bottle, after Hiram Codd, the English engineer who patented it in 1872. It spread across the world and then all but vanished. Today it lives on mainly in India, as goli soda, and in Japan, as ramune.
Because it seals the bottle with nothing but the drink's own pressure. A fizzy drink pushes outward; in a Codd-neck bottle that push holds a glass marble tight against a rubber ring. There is nothing to screw on and nothing to lose, and when it opens you hear the pop.

Simple design, brilliant physics, and a whole lot of fun.
Four moves. Tear the seal band off the cap. Lift the plunger out of its safety ring. Sit the plunger in the mouth of the bottle and press down firmly with your palm, holding for a few seconds while the fizz settles. The marble drops with a pop. Lift the plunger away, tilt and sip.

Press on a table, not in your lap, and keep your palm on the plunger until the fizzing calms: a soda opened in a hurry foams over.
It is made to stay in. Once pressed down, the marble rests in a chamber in the neck, below the mouth of the bottle, while you drink. Do not try to take it out, and do not drink from a bottle whose marble is broken, missing or already down before you open it. The bottle is glass: open it for small children yourself.
Nothing: it is part of the bottle's character. Tilt the bottle gently, without tipping it straight up, and the marble settles into the pocket of the neck and lets the soda past. Sip, don't gulp. People have been learning this trick on their first bottle for about 150 years.
Goli is the Hindi and Gujarati word for a marble: the glass ball that seals the bottle. Goli soda is what India has long called its marble-sealed street soda. In Delhi the same drink is known as banta. Japan's cousin, in a bottle of the same design, is ramune.
They are cousins. Ramune is Japan's marble soda and goli soda is India's, and both use the Codd-neck bottle patented in England in 1872. Goli Pop is the Indian one, made new: six flavours of its own, 6 g of fibre in each bottle, and low in sugar.
Six grams of added fibre in every 220 ml bottle. The label calls it added fibre. It is a soluble fibre, so it dissolves completely: you cannot see it or feel it in the drink.

Health authorities advise adults to eat between 25 and 30 g of fibre a day: 25 g in the European Union, 28 g on United States labels, 30 g in the United Kingdom. One bottle of Goli Pop holds 6 g, about a fifth of that. The rest still has to come from food: vegetables, fruit, pulses and whole grains.
Prebiotic is the name given to certain fibres that pass through the stomach undigested. Goli Pop is called a prebiotic soda because of the fibre added to it. We tell you how much is in the bottle, 6 g, and we promise no effect on your health: that is a matter for your own doctor or dietitian.

The rules differ by country. In the European Union and the United Kingdom a brand may not use the word to promise a benefit, and we do not. Wherever you read this, the fact is the same: 6 g of fibre in every bottle.
Yes: its label says low sugar, and a laboratory report of June 2026 found less than 2 g of total sugar, and less than 1 g of added sugar, in 100 ml. It is sweetened with monk fruit / stevia. Each bottle's nutrition table gives the figures for its flavour.
Monk fruit or stevia, both from plants. Monk fruit, also called luo han guo, is a small gourd grown in southern China. Stevia comes from the leaf of Stevia rebaudiana, a shrub native to South America. Both are many times sweeter than sugar, so very little is needed. Which one is in your bottle is on its label.
Sparkling water, prebiotic fibre, real fruit extracts, natural flavours, citric acid, and monk fruit / stevia. The full list for each flavour, in order, is printed on its label.

No. Goli Pop is made without preservatives and without artificial colours.
Yes. Goli Pop is gluten-free and vegan. What goes into it is sparkling water, fibre, fruit extracts, natural flavours, citric acid and a plant sweetener.
Goli Pop is a soda for the whole family. The bottle is glass, with a marble in its neck: open it for small children yourself, and stay with them while they drink. It is sweetened with monk fruit / stevia.
Six: Strawberry Lime, Lemon Lime, Blueberry Lime, Dream Cream, Orange Crush and Ginger Lime. Lemon Lime is the closest to the street-corner original. Dream Cream is a vanilla cream soda. Ginger Lime carries a gentle warmth.
Cold. Chill the bottle well, open it just before you drink, and hold the plunger down for a few seconds while the fizz settles. It also pours over ice like any soda: open the bottle first, then pour.
Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, and do not freeze it. Serve it chilled. Once opened, a Codd-neck bottle cannot be closed again, so drink it while the fizz is fresh.
Before soda meant cans and plastic, there was glass. We chose it because great soda deserves to be bottled the right way: glass is a clean, neutral vessel that keeps the taste and character of the drink, without a plastic taste. And only glass gives the marble its sound.
Yes. The bottle is glass and its cap carries a “please recycle” mark. Put it with glass where you live, following your local rules. The marble inside is glass too.

Stocking it
10 answersThrough the importer or wholesaler for your country. Goli Pop sells in more than 11 countries, and in each it reaches shops through local trade partners. Write to partners@golipopsoda.com with your town and the kind of business you run, and the export team will point you to the right one.
Tell us. Where there is no partner yet, the export team looks at each enquiry on its own. The Pop Partner passport takes a few minutes and tells them what they need to know about your business and your volumes.
Our own photographs from the Gulf and the United Kingdom show it in hypermarket displays, shop chillers, cash-and-carry aisles, restaurant fridges and on bar shelves. They are on the Pop Proof page.
No. The opener is part of the cap: a small plunger, held in a safety ring under the seal band. The customer tears the seal, lifts the plunger and presses it into the mouth of the bottle. The marble drops, and the bottle is open.

Cool and out of direct sunlight. A chiller is the best place for it, because it is best served cold.

They are glass, and the cap carries a “please recycle” mark. They go with your glass recycling, following your local rules. The marble inside is glass too.
Your local importer or wholesaler sets trade prices for your country, and you set your own shelf price. We do not publish prices, because duties, freight and taxes differ in every market.
The facts on its label: a marble soda with 6 g of fibre in every 220 ml bottle, low in sugar, gluten-free and vegan. What a menu may say beyond that is a matter of your own country's food rules, so describe it as the label does and add no health promise.

Three markets have a page of their own while they wait for their first importer: Japan, Italy and Germany. Goli Pop is not on sale in them yet.
We look for a committed distributor for each country, and exclusivity for a territory is something the export team discusses with partners who can cover it. Say in your enquiry which country, regions and channels you serve today.
ABNN Fresh Expo LLP of Surat, India, makes and exports Goli Pop Soda. India's export body APEDA supported its global launch on 4 February 2025, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported trial shipments to the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and the Gulf in March 2025.

On 15 July 2026, the day the India-UK trade agreement came into force, a consignment left Gujarat for the United Kingdom. That last line is our own record; the photographs are on the Pop Proof page.
They are sent, not posted. Specifications, pack and pallet data, shelf life and prices go to trade buyers by email after an enquiry, so that what you receive is current for your market and the season.
Sodas like Goli Pop are normally classified under heading 2202 of the Harmonized System, “waters containing added sugar or other sweetening matter or flavoured”, usually subheading 2202.10. The digits after the first six differ by country, so your customs broker confirms the full code.
A commercial invoice, a packing list, a bill of lading and a certificate of origin are standard for any export from India. Whatever your market adds, for example a health certificate or a label approval, tell us in your enquiry and the export team prepares it with you.
Label rules differ by country: the language, the form of the nutrition table, the importer's name and address. Tell us your market's requirements in your enquiry, and the export team works through them with you before the first order.
Since 1 January 2026 the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia tax sweetened drinks by their sugar content, per litre, in place of the old flat 50 per cent. In the UAE a drink with less than 5 g of sugar per 100 ml pays no excise. Which tier a product falls in is decided by its certified sugar content. Goli Pop's laboratory report of June 2026 shows less than 2 g of total sugar in 100 ml; the export team sends it on request.
- under 5 g
- per 100 ml: no excise (UAE)
- 5 to 8 g
- 0.79 dirhams a litre
- 8 g and over
- 1.09 dirhams a litre
The Soft Drinks Industry Levy applies to drinks with added sugar and 5 g or more of total sugar per 100 ml; drinks under that line are outside it. Since 5 January 2026 the UK also restricts advertising of “less healthy” food and drink online and on television before 9 pm. Where a product stands under both depends on its nutrition figures: Goli Pop's laboratory report of June 2026 shows less than 2 g of total sugar in 100 ml.
The fact travels everywhere: 6 g of fibre in every 220 ml bottle. What may be said beyond it is national. In the European Union and the United Kingdom “prebiotic” is not an authorised health claim, so there we speak of fibre and promise nothing about health. We advise every partner to do the same until their own adviser has cleared the wording.
Ask for them in your enquiry. The export team replies with what can be sent to your country and how.

Large enough that the world's biggest drinks companies have bought in. PepsiCo agreed to buy the American prebiotic soda brand Poppi for 1.95 billion dollars in 2025, and Coca-Cola launched its own, Simply Pop. One market estimate values prebiotic soda at about 0.9 billion dollars worldwide in 2024, rising to 1.8 billion by 2030.
